Baron Trenk Castle, Trenkovo
The center of Trenkovo is dominated by a baroque manor that was the central facility of Baron Franjo Trenk’s estate during the first half of the 18th century. Over time, while changing owners, the castle was upgraded and redecorated. It had its first transformation in a late baroque-neoclassicist style when it was owned by the Baron Peteffy family. It got its today’s look during the refurbishment under the Svetić family. The main entrance to the castle is facing the Požega-Velika road. The ground floor consisted of the housekeeping rooms, and reception and living quarters were on the first floor.
The park surrounding the castle is of special significance. During the Trenk period, exotic plants were planted there. When the Peteffys took over, the surface of 5,2 ha was converted into an area with plants in an English landscaping style in which grass surfaces alternate with surfaces with trees and bushes. Due to its beauty and uniqueness, it was protected as a monument of park architecture on March 30, 1964.
