The oldest wine cellar in Croatia
In the 18th century, Jesuits built an impressive baroque castle on the remains of the Cistercian abbey Vallis Honesta de Gotho, and the estate was at its peak at the time of the Turković family. A wine cellar, which is from 1232, is under it. Almost 800 years of continuous wine tradition, rich wine archives, and the story of Empress Maria Theresa and Baron Franjo Trenk who in 1741 spent seven days in it, enjoying the love powers of the wine, leaving a dent in the stone table as proof – the oldest cellar in this part of Europe is a real tourist attraction.
