Who would have thought that Golden Slavonia is a paradise for hikers?! Krndija, Psunj, Papuk, Mount Požega, and Mount Dilj are a challenge even for the most experienced hikers. Out of 150 hiking trails in Croatia, the longest and the oldest is the 300-kilometer-long Slavonian hiking trail.

And it’s definitely not easy! Ever since its opening in 1957, only a dozen hikers passed it from the first try. They needed no less than nine days to achieve that.

Its beginning used to be at the Londžica railway station, it led over Krndija and Papuk to Strmac on Psunj, had around twenty control points, and it was half the length of today’s trail.

In the new millennium, it changed its name to the Visit to the Slavonian mountains, it is circular in shape, and it connects mountain lodges Omanovac above Pakrac and Petrov vrh above Daruvar. Out of 35 control points in total, you will need stamps from 31 points to get a hiking badge, and for that, you will need five two-day excursions. Or would you rather try to do it all at once?

In any case, you will enjoy the fresh air and beautiful nature. Believe us, there is no nicer and healthier way to experience a destination than the one you do by walking.
