Museum and Bećarac Square in Pleternica

Its value was recognized by UNESCO and it was included in the list of protected intangible cultural assets. Bećarac is more than a traditional song, it is an intrinsic part of the Slavonic lifestyle, it intrigues musicologists, ethnologists, sociologists, psychologists, linguists... and the creative people of Pleternica have turned it into a brand.

They named the modern central city square after it, with a heart-warming Slavonian story woven into the panels and murals depicting fertile fields, furrows, golden ears of corn, meadows, plentiful meals, joy, and song... Everything that makes Golden Slavonia original and recognizable.
